Entertainment Finance is already running on MagicBlock
Games are becoming markets. See which apps already run Entertainment Finance on MagicBlock, from tap trading to skill games and gacha, and what they need.

A perpetuals exchange pushed around $300 million in trading volume through MagicBlock. A skill-games app, where players compete head to head for prizes, hosted 150,000 matches during one summer campaign. A gacha machine with players opening 519 SOL worth of packs on its first day.
All three ran on the same backend, and they belong to the same new category.

Games are becoming markets, and markets are becoming entertainment. We call this Entertainment Finance: consumer applications that combine financial ownership, speculation and game mechanics into experiences people enjoy using.
In "The Rise of Entertainment Finance", Andrea, our CEO, explains why a new generation is willing to trade the certainty of modest returns for a small shot at an outsized payoff. And this article is about what the category includes, who is already building it on MagicBlock, and what these apps need from their backend.
What counts as Entertainment Finance
What these apps share is real ownership with game mechanics on top. Users trade, collect, compete and win assets they actually own, in apps that are fun to use. Take away the ownership and it's a regular game. Take away the fun and it's a regular finance app. Some of them don't put a user's deposit at risk at all: on Moocon, a no-loss lottery, deposits can be withdrawn at any time and the prizes come from the interest the pooled deposits earn.
That covers a wide range of apps, and teams that are already building on MagicBlock:
| What users do | Apps building on MagicBlock | What they use |
|---|---|---|
| Trade price moves in seconds | BananaZone, Soltoshi Dice, 1tap | Ephemeral Rollups (ER), and the MagicBlock Price Feed for 1tap |
| Compete in games with real prizes | Slimecoin, Voble | ER, plus VRF for Voble |
| Open packs and collect | Jungle Fun, gabox, ONE Arena | VRF (Jungle Fun, gabox), ER (ONE Arena) |
| Enter prize draws, lotteries and raffles | Moocon, Solara Lotto, Raflux | VRF |
| Win back trading fees in daily draws | Walletor | VRF |
Solana is the shared ledger where users, assets and liquidity already live. On top of it, each app can get what Entertainment Finance needs: transactions that cost nothing, randomness that comes with a proof, and balances that stay private. MagicBlock adds them app by app, and every result settles back to Solana.
What these apps need
Whether it's a price call, a prize draw or a pack of graded cards, the apps on the map need the same four things.

Real-time. A price call that settles a second late is worthless. Every trade on BananaZone has to land the moment it's made, and so does every move in a Slimecoin match or a ONE Arena card battle. MagicBlock's ER sessions give each app its own environment with 10ms block times and settle every result back to Solana.
Fairness. When a draw decides who wins today's prize pool or what's inside a Jungle Fun pack, nobody should be able to pick the result, not even the app. MagicBlock VRF delivers randomness in under 10 milliseconds, with a proof anyone can check onchain. Andrea makes the same point in his thesis: the odds and risks in these apps should be transparent. With our VRF, users can check every outcome for themselves.
Privacy. Positions, balances and strategies shouldn't be on display just because they live onchain. Private ER sessions keep that data encrypted in trusted hardware, while every result stays verifiable.
Free transactions. These apps run on many small actions: a price call every few seconds, pull after pull, draw after draw. If every action costs a fee, the experience stops working. Transactions inside an ER session are free, so users can act as often as they like.
Most apps need more than one of the four, and all four run in one place, on Solana, so apps keep their users and liquidity where they already are.
The demand is real
Flash Trade, a perpetuals exchange on Solana, ran its execution in MagicBlock ER sessions. Around $300M in trading volume went through MagicBlock.
Flash Trade is no longer operating, but the numbers it left behind are clear: traders want fast, high-stakes markets on Solana, and ER sessions are built to carry that load.
Slimecoin: skill games with real prizes
Slimecoin, from the team behind Supersize, runs skill games like solitaire, 2048 and match 3, where players compete head to head for prizes. Opponents deposit money into a smart contract, get a provably fair shuffle or board, and play every move verifiably, so anyone knows they are not being cheated by the game operator.
During Seeker Summer, 8,661 players played 150,000 matches on Slimecoin, with $65,000 in volume in just 10 days. It is still one of the most active apps on MagicBlock today.
"We needed an extremely low-latency environment to make Slimecoin real-time, trustless, and scalable, and MagicBlock was the only way we could do that."
Lewis Arnsten, Founder and CEO
Jungle Fun: a gacha players can check
Jungle Fun is MonkeDAO's gacha machine, and its pulls run on MagicBlock VRF.
On launch day, players opened 519 SOL worth of packs across 1,028 pulls. By September, Jungle Fun had made more MagicBlock VRF requests than any other app.
The engine for Entertainment Finance
Three very different apps produced around $300 million in volume, 150,000 matches and 519 SOL in pulls on the same backend. Across the whole network, apps have run more than 425,000 ER sessions on MagicBlock so far.
Large parts of the category are still open for builders: prediction markets, social trading, trading competitions, skill games with prize pools, and everyday payments that come with a chance to win, like the "Buy Now, Pay Maybe" card Andrea writes about. Games are becoming markets, and markets are becoming entertainment. MagicBlock is the all-in-one engine that runs them on Solana.

Build it with us
If you're building a game, a market or anything in between where users own, trade and win real value, MagicBlock gives you real-time execution, fairness, privacy and free transactions to run it on Solana.
Start with the developer documentation, or let your coding agent do the setup with the MagicBlock Dev Skill:
